T HE STORY SO FAR...
Lyons Hall Primary is a large school in Braintree, Essex. They are an outstanding school with 450 pupils and 20 teachers.
They have gradually invested in iPad and Mac over the past two years and working with us have embedded the use of the technology into day-to-day teaching and learning with amazing results.
WHAT WAS THE IMPACT?
Children are highly engaged when using iPad and are encouraged to work both independently and collaboratively.
They are producing a wider range of purposeful learning outcomes such as trailers, podcasts, animations and videos to explain their learning of a concept. Being able to watch and playback work helps them to reflect upon their learning.
JTRS went the extra mile to personalise their support and training for our school. At each stage, they helped us to clarify our needs and suggest possible
Their technical team are very knowledge- able and give good advice on how to manage iPad in the simplest way to work as a whole school system.

Starting with 'why?'
Did you have a vision for embedding the technology into the curriculum?
At Lyons Hall we want ICT to support children's learning across the curriculum in a creative, interactive and purposeful way. For ICT to support our Core Learning Skills Curriculum: Independence, Thinking Skills/ Problem Solving, Team Roles (collaborative learning) and Improving Own Learning.
To enable children to acquire the skills to adapt to whatever the future holds for them. ICT to be intuitive and efficient to use with high-quality outcomes and to fit seamlessly into any lesson inside or outside of the classroom. Not forgetting to add excitement to children's learning.
Why did you choose to invest in iPad?
To update our old ICT equipment to support children's learning across the curriculum and help develop children's independence and creativity.

Why did you invest in technical support with JTRS and why do you feel that it was important?
The JTRS technical team are very knowledge and give good advice on how to manage iPad devices in the simplest way to work as a whole school system. They are always on the end of a phone if support is needed and give invaluable advice. As a result of the seamless set up they provided for us we have chosen to invest in an ongoing Technical Support Agreement that provides us with limitless remote support
Why did you invest in training with JTRS and why do you feel that it is important?
JTRS training is always engaging, hands-on and full of inspirational ideas to change the way we teach and children learn. Each year group has relished the opportunity to sit down with a JTRS Trainer and rethink how to deliver their year group objectives using technology to make children's learning interactive and purposeful,
What impact has the introduction of iPad had on teaching and learning?

Due to iPad devices being simple and efficient to use ICT is now fully integrated into all lessons across the curriculum and used as a tool to support learning in many ways. Children are always highly engaged when using iPad devices and they encourage children to work both independently and collaboratively. Children are now choosing which app they want to record their work on and having the choice to explain their learning by talking, writing drawing or animating, as a result all children can achieve.
